2000 Oldsmobile Alero LXS review from North America
"Alero blower problems fix"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
If you have had problems with your blower motor resistor board, there is a reason why. gm failed to put caulk on many windshield seals on the aleros. why don't they recall? who knows. the little peice of plastic that covers the bootom of the windshield leaks. of course the fan vent sits right underneath the windshield and water drips down into the motor and on the resistor board. I have found all three aleros that I've worked on had this problem, but gm ignores me. I first found this problem when I last replaced my fan and broke the front screw off that holds the front on. the fan sits right above your bcm. my bcm got full of water that was dripping from the windshield. if you have a blower motor problem you need to take the motor out and put a hose on your windshield. make sure your vent is open. within a few minutes if you see drips of water coming out of your fan housing that is your problem. give gm a call and complain. please!!! I'm sick of companys building cars now a days and not standing behind their vehicles. I had to get my bcm replaced and they changed the part # and the mount. they raised it so it doesn't sit in the puddle of water. they say that isn't why, but their full of it. why do you change a part in a 2001 vehicle and not recall? do you just have so much time on your hands that you feel like screwing your customers with part changes? enough complaints and they will have to recall!
