1992 Geo Tracker LSi review from North America
"Cool, Reliable, Fun and Great Off-road!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Leaks in the crankshaft seal because the oil pan was overfilled with oil by the previous owner.
Transmission pan is leaking bad, I did not even bother to check the problem I am going to swap it for a 5spd anyways.
Exhaust is gone and is almost dragging the pavement, I will replace it with a Calmini sytem.
General comments?
It is peppier that I thought it would be.
Is very reliable it hasn't leave me stranded yet.
Great off-road it has put some jeeps and full-size trucks to shame.
Simple and easy to work on, if you don't mess with the TBI system.
It seems that it was designed for 3rd world countries were maintenance is poor or non-existent (I come from one).
It is not the roomiest car in the back, the front seats space is good, cargo space without folding the rear seats is limited.
The "sunroof" is a great feature.
Probably I am going to keep it, swap the automatic transmission for a 5spd, get a Calmini 3"lift or a straight axle swap if they ever come up with one.
