1974 Triumph 2500TC review from Australia and New Zealand
"Nothing fantastic, bad auto"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Windscreen leaked
heater didn't work
noisy exhaust
fuel pump died
alternator died
brakes died.
General comments?
I had this forced upon me by my parents when I was 18.
The automatic was the worst part, changed into top as soon as possible and stayed there unless you floored it. In top gear at speed it was good, went up hills well, good overtaking acceleration. It was a credit to the engine that it went as well as it did with a lousy 3-speed auto.
Expensive parts, a guzzler in traffic.
Not very spacious.
A manual one probably goes very well.
