2004 Honda Element EX review from North America
"A roomy, utilitarian vehicle offering an excellent mix of fuel efficiency and cargo capacity"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
AC compressor made noise when cycling on and off, fixed by dealer under warranty.
General comments?
This car is fairly quick for with the 5 speed in FWD form. It handles well and corners well, it's weight transferring progressively in a controlled manner, which is different from my 2005 Pilot. The engine is torquey and prefers to be short shifted. I get the best acceleration and mileage when I shift between 3 and 4K RPM. The stereo rocks hard and the subwoofer is impressive, trumping the bass output of the Pilot. The rubberized interior is perfect and can be formalized with carpeted floor mats from the dealer. The versatility of the flat load floor and foldable seats makes the car very functional.
