1994 SAAB 900 S review from North America
"Not as reliable or as fun as it's previous model. Exception 900SE. Look to 85-93 900 instead"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Clutch cable broke at 160,000.
Shifter broke at 160,000.
Idler pulleys broke at 165,000.
Terrible to get aligned!
General comments?
Would not buy this model again. The 94 was the first year of the SAAB GM transition. NG (next generation, due to GM transition and redesign) 900 problems did not get worked out until 1997. Simply not as solid as previous Saab 900's. If considering 900 expect clutch cable to break and if you have an auto trans expect lots of upkeep. If you have your heart set on 900 look @ pre 94 900's. These are much more solid and more well built than the 94-97 NG 900.
