1994 Ford Thunderbird LX review from Mexico
"Living up to its name... great engine"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Front right brake rotor shudders when braking at high speed, radiator broke, brake pads wore off, steering electronics not functioning, driver side window motor weak when rolling the window down, battery dies constantly, head lights got weaker, 3rd gear clunks when shifting at high speed, engine not performing as it should for a v8 4.6, hydraulic fluid leak.
General comments?
Despite the many problems that come with an 11 year old car, this car proved itself on the highway. It is not a city car, as it guzzles gasoline like an Irish Seaman guzzles bitter beer.
Very comfortable seating for all passengers and the driver. Overall view for the driver is restricted due to the large and slanting hood, same with the rear boot.
The soft suspension makes it glide on a straight highway, but pitches greatly when cornering.. giving the implication of a rollover, but the sheer size of the wheelbase makes it grip the ground.
Overtaking on the highway was never better for me, as the car does exactly what you expect it to do.. and the 8 cylinders thunder with great acceleration.
Accelerating from zero is disappointing, as the car is heavy, but after 2500 rpm.. the car gives the effect of a turbo engaging the car into a great change.
