1997 Ford Galaxy Ghia X review from UK and Ireland
"Very spacious"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Drain hole at base of windscreen blocked, during a torrential downpour, water seeped in through the dashboard on the passenger side. This water found it's way into a little storage space under the front passenger seat which houses the ECU (which controls all the cars electrics). The ECU sitting in a pool of water caused the central locking to fail, & more distressingly, made all the electric windows open.
I called a recovery service to help me close the windows, but they were unable to help. I covered the car with a tarpaulin & took it back to the dealer the following day who replaced the ECU under warranty.
I have since placed the ECU in a polythene bag, tied with a cable tie & placed the unit on a thick piece of foam. I have not had any problems since. This is the only fault I have had with the car.
General comments?
Very comfortable ride.
Handles well considering the size.
Everything I've bought has fitted in, from 8 foot children's slide to double wardrobe.
