1999 Ford Contour review from North America
"More of a hassle then it's worth"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When we first purchased the car from a used car dealer, I could not open the trunk or the trunk by key. I had to open the doors by first unlocking the passenger's side and crawl through to unlock the driver's side door. to unlock the trunk I still to this day need to used the lever inside the car.
I cannot let the gas meter get below half tank. When stopping the car (at a red light on stop sign), upon trying to get going again, the car stalls out and turns off. This has caused several instances where I was placed in dangerous situations. Due to the fact that the car was off and as I was trying to get it started again, the car following me did not realize that the car had in fact stalled.
The dashboard is peeling up, and now is starting to restrict my view of the road.
Very noisy at times.
The check engine light keeps turning on. After trying many different solutions, we still cannot figure out what is causing some of the internal problems in the car.
General comments?
The seats are very comfortable.
Starts up quick.
The heat and A/C have both worked very well every time I've used them.
Not good for very long trips, but good to get you to where you need to go in a close proximity.
