1987 Honda CRX Si review from Australia and New Zealand
"A sleeper beast"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Water leaking through the hatch struts.
Wiring in engine was damaged due to a flood. I had it fixed for $100.
General comments?
I've had my Rex for almost 3 months now and I am still in love with it.
CRXs are were built for racing. Performance mixed with handling and great looks. They may be small, but that's the deception about them :D. A guy I know has a Mazda MX6 and believes that he can beat a CRX easily. I am one who begs to differ.
Everyone who sees my CRX stops and looks. It's not that it's a loud car, but that it's not commonly seen. R33s and Silvia are all too well known. The CRX is unique and everyone loves that.
$30 fills the petrol gauge and she handles EXTREMELY well on the highway.
The CRX also has a lot of Mods available. Both Performance and Visual (Loving the Altezza Back-Lights).
The only prob I can see with a rex is the height of the car from the ground. Australian roads were obviously not meant for the CRX. I've hit the driveway a couple of times, but nothing serious. I just can't drop her and put a bodykit on her. Well maybe the kit.
Anyways CRXs are the best! I'd recommend any Honda to anybody. Peace.
