1981 Jeep CJ7 review from North America
"Greatest ride under the sun!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced motor with big bad built-up beast - 6 mpg.
Replaced exhaust with headers/dual flowmaster.
Replaced body with fiberglass.
Replaced wheels/tires.
Replaced transmission with 350 turbo.
Replaced axles with Dana 44s, and lock rights in front and rear.
General comments?
There is absolutely nothing like a CJ! Any Jeep with EFI is just not the real thing! I don't own a top for my Jeep, so it is purely a summer fair weather ride. The comfort factor is a complete non-issue for me, as the ruggedness of the CJ7 is a direct result of it's tank like ride. Show me any other vehicle this fun for $10,000. I can go anywhere, and when in 4WD on pavement I can out run almost all sports cars for the first 1/8th mile!
