1997 Chevrolet Blazer LS review from North America
"A Beautiful Pile of Crap"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The day after I purchased the Blazer, the "service engine soon" light came on. With 5 months of owning this vehicle, I had to replace:
Transmission (which we lost on our way to Florida)
All ball joints
Both front bearings
All suspension
Idler arm
Pittman Arm
Fuel pump
Remote oil lines
and tires.
I did most of the work myself (except the tranny) and have put well over $7000 into this beautiful pile of garbage.
Currently, I have rust forming around the windshield, which made a stress fracture. It would be about $800 to fix rust and $250 for the windshield.
My windshield wipers rarely work.
The blinker module clicks randomly.
The rear windshield wiper has never worked.
General comments?
Normally I am a Chevy man. This truck, however, was the biggest heap of crap on 4 wheels. It has been running decently lately, it has 160,000 miles now. Maybe it's because I am practically driving a new Blazer!
