1982 Volkswagen Golf C review from UK and Ireland
"Cheap road legal go-kart and attracts the ladies!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Points constantly pitting.
Valves need re-timing constantly.
Knackered breather on the rear of the block.
Crap alternator (SAAB 80 amp fitted).
Head gaskets x4!!!!
Wheel bearings and very poor exhaust!
General comments?
It had a 1.3 HK engine fitted from a 1.3 1984 mk2 golf and went like stink for 2 years! Total fun on its deep dish alloys (running on 185/60/13!)
and lowered down via a hacksaw!
As it only cost me £50 with the Kamei kit on it and green paint in the 2 and a bit years I had it, it did me and VW proud!! TOP CAR FOR VERY LITTLE MONEY (and insurance!)
