2002 Saturn LS review from North America
"A great economy car- you get what you pay for"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The catalytic converter got clogged at 61,000 so the car was losing power under load (up hill) and was stalling
There is no way to figure this out since the service engine light does not go on and the computer does not return any error code. You really need an experienced mechanic to be able to tell what is wrong now if your mechanic is not honest you are going to be taken for ride you know I mean
Changed the brake pads at 35,000 since then the left side is making noise, I can't figure out what it is, it looks like the calimper is not returning so the brake pads ware faster.
General comments?
The car is cheaply built, but very efficient 40miles per gallon.
Saturns have a reputation of being reliable, but I'm not sure about this one
PS you can get a lot of cheap parts from ebay and if you can do the work yourself you can't go wrong with a Saturn
A lot of repair manuals at www.saturnfans.com
