1978 Chrysler Newport Base review from North America
"A very well kept example"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The only things that have gone wrong is the Battery has been replaced 3 times and the power windows which I'm having trouble finding a driver's door switch for it. Other than that I need a black bezel for the Instrument Cluster
as well as figuring out what's wrong with the gas gage.
General comments?
This is The Best Car I've owned.
It's Very Reliable, Clean and It has good power on the highway.
However Gas Mileage is not a plus.
Otherwise I love the car which is in Very good condition for a 1979 Vehicle.
It's really a shame there are a scarce car since they're the best products Chrysler has come out with.
The Chrysler R body was built from 1979 to 1981 and I Previously had a 1981 Chrysler New Yorker. Another Fine R body, but it rusted out on me.
I have lots of plans for this car and I will keep it Original. But the only work it needs cosmetically is a few dime sized dents pulled out,Paint and re chroming of the bumpers. the Interior needs a good Cleaning as well as put back together when I find a power window switch for it.
