1991 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 review from North America
"Better than the bunny, Chevy Trucks keep going, and going, and going."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The Transmission needed to be replaced about 40,000 miles ago. Given how long it lasted, I don't really rate this as a bad thing.
Currently, the Air Conditioning is starting to go.
General comments?
This truck has lasted. It was originally the company truck, which was later sold to me. I have been the only person to ever drive this pickup, and I can tell you that nothing lasts like this.
Transmission changed at 180,000 miles. Still the original engine, apart from some minor repairs and replacements.
She still has all the power of a new truck. I use a special long life type oil, have for about 6 years. Gas treatments, to clean the system, have also helped keep everything running smoothly.
My only complaint is gas mileage. 14 miles per gallon is about all I can get. Given today's prices, it makes driving a bit expensive.
