2000 BMW M Roadster M series Roadster review from UK and Ireland
"Awesome!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I had to have a new variable valve system fitted.
Slightly leaky roof.
General comments?
The car is fantastic a pure adrenalin rush every time I get in it.
It corners beautifully.
The engine is extremely responsive throughout the gears.
The design of the car is a one off, BMW have very successfully created a classic, the have taken the dreary looking standard Z3 added some curves wider wheels, and a ballistic engine to create a car that I don't think I will ever get rid of, Porsche, Mercedes, and many others beware, if you see this car in your rear view mirror before long you will be looking at the fantastic quad exhaust pips screaming off in the distance.
One thing I have read on these reports from many other owners is the complaint of excessive brake dust, hears a tip for you.
1. don't use the brakes so much, (sometimes causes death so be careful)
2. Get ceramic brake pads fitted, they create hardly any dust so your alloys can stay shiny for ages.
The brakes on this vehicle are a bit weak when fitted with BMW standards, so may I suggest as above fitting drilled & Grooved discs at the front end with ceramic pads this helps your stopping power quite significantly as the pads nor the discs heat up as quickly.
One hell of a machine, and now not one hell of a price.
