"Awesome little rocket sled"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
-When I first got the car, I had to do a complete brake job. There were no pads left on the front, and the back were weak.
-Painted the car and made it look nice.
-In 2003, I had to do the head gasket, followed by the water pump and lastly the heater core all in a period of about a month.
-Put front pads on the car in 2004 after moving and put 5000km on the car
-Put both transmission cooler lines on the car. I neglected to do this for about 3 months, and almost 2 years later I still have a transmission!!
-Put new front bumper (skin and re-bar) from junk yard as well as a not so leaky sunroof and radio. It was all $20 each!
-Put two used struts on the car, and didn't have it aligned (stupid move) The car ate 2 new tires over one winter and about 10000km. The new alignment and tires are like a dream come true
-Upgraded to Sony Xplod 52X4 cd player, 4-way 400watt 6x9's, and 120watt 4 1/2's.
General comments?
I love my car. It looks bad, but I have new exhaust, brakes, tires on it and it runs good. It has never ever let me down. Even now I am not afraid to take it 200 or 300 km up the highway and think about being worried. I am now getting an 89 z24. Is it still considered an upgrade if you downgrade the year?! Oh well!
