1998 Chevrolet Malibu review from North America
"It's been a good car for me"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing really serious that I know of, I had new brakes and a tune up (including belts) put on when I bought the car. and I consider all this regular maintaining of a car.
I have had the air conditioner problem off and on for the whole time. I chalked this up as a short in the wiring.
And until now I could not have ask for a better running car and I feel like if I could find a good mechanic who knew how to work on one he could fix the problem it's having now.
I have a sputtering problem I thought at first was bad gas. My complain does not apply to the car, but to the men fixing it, what happen to the good mechanics who could just listen to a car and tell you the problem? All we have now are mechanics who just change out parts. you have to go get a code for them to know which part is bad, and then half the time they are only guessing.
General comments?
I have loved this car, it's ran really well for me. It handles good and is good on gas.
We have took long trips in this car and never had a problem one with it. (10 hour non stop driving trips in this car)
The mechanic who worked on my car last week suggested I need a new car.
I need a good mechanic, not a new car.
My dad was one of these good mechanics, he could just stand and listen to the motor and tell you what was wrong with it.
