1998 Holden Commodore Execuitive review from Australia and New Zealand
"Good all round car with a, but quite a bit of performance and luxury"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Oil leak from sump plug when I first bought it, Possibly ex-owners fault.
Forward function on electric seat is a bit sticky from day I bought it.
Knock under car if accelerated extremely quickly as to loose traction, have been told that the centre bearing in drive shaft is out of alignment.
Engine has started to produce a loose
noise after 170,000km's.
General comments?
Not to good on sharp corners in the rain, rear tends to wonder in not careful.
Stock suspension is quite rolly polly on execuitive models, have recently lowered with king springs and ride has stiffened up 100% better.
Boot lid drips water over contents in boot if opened when raining.
Wear marks on right side of drivers seat are starting to show.
Car in not good for anyone wanting to install a serious sound system as boot rattles like all hell, lots of time and effort, not to mention money is needed to sound proof boot.
Engine has large amounts of torque in mid rev range.
Ecotech is a just that little bit more refined than the old 3.8L Buick motor in the VN-VR models.
