2000 Holden Commodore VX review from Australia and New Zealand
"Absolutely great"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Tires had uneven wear at 117,000 km (burnouts on gravel)
Upper control arm stabiliser pin bushing (only 1 damaged excessively) at 126,560km - I figure it was due to a corner I slid around too hard (rain)
The drink holder in the centre console is a little loose, but that's due to my friend ripping it off and breaking the clip.
The CD player took a few pieces out of my favourite CD when I was driving over some speed bumps on a gravel road, but I'm not sure if that was the CD players fault or not..
General comments?
I bought the car as it was the only thing at the time I could pay off monthly without having to get a loan.. I never wanted to get a Holden as I've always been into Nissan's - After driving the car for 5 minutes I fell in love. Hearing the compliments I get for having such a beautiful looking car brightens up my day.
I'd prefer a manual, but I didn't have a wide selection - Wouldn't mind converting it when I get the chance.
The 3.8L Ecotec motor is beautiful, torquey and smooth - You don't feel as if you're going fast until you look at the speedometer and notice you're going 140 kph..
Has no problem kicking the back end out if you want it to - especially in the wet or on gravel, though maintains a very firm - but gentle ride in traffic.
