1998 Porsche Boxster review from North America
"Fun car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have had to replace a bearing on the driver's side rear axle and recently I had the axle bolts break off on the same axle...related??
My washer fluid pump appears to have stopped working.
My airbag light is on, of course.
I have the turbo rims which none of my local tire shops can seem to change the tires on without gouging scrape marks into.
All in all, I have had less problems with this car than any other car I have had with the exception of a 1986 Bertone X1/9 that I paid $1200 and drove for 3 years with no problems... OK well no MAJOR problems that it didn't have when I bought it. I even sold that car for $1200.
General comments?
I drive this car every day and have put 45,000 miles on it in 2 years with out major problems.
I have the hardtop option which helps a lot in winter, not to mention looks really cool.
I will never buy another car without heated seats again! My seats in the boxster are wonderful in the winter.
The car could use a little more power. I am about to sell this car and upgrade to the Boxster S.
