1985 Mercedes-Benz 190 review from North America
"A Benz to satisfy all"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The car has been extremely reliable. I got a pristine model from Florida that was women driven and had such updates as an entirely new front end, converted air conditioning, new steering box, and a new water pump. I have had to have the shifter alighnment tightened back down (all labor cost) just from age of vehicle. Just replaced alternator. Also, a heavy car so get proper tires to handle the weight, learned the hard way. Interior gorgeous, wood cracked recently. Get MB Tex, never wears. Also, if ever parked on the street people love to steal the hood emblems and trunk emblems as well as my gas caps (broke open the door with a cro-bar)
General comments?
Very decent car, never worry about anything. The 190e is the best used Benz to buy. It is the simplest model and fairly cheap to repair. I checked out a used 560sel, ungodly cost on parts and service! The 190e is simple to drive, run, and fix.
