1993 Toyota 4Runner SR5 review from Egypt
"Reliable machine"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I purchased the car after it was parked for two years in an open area,
So I changed the timimg belt and its bearings, spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter, clutch set, brakes, sport rims, large 31.10. 15 tires, tuned up the engine, O2 sensor changed as well.
I replaced the suspension with old man emu coz its great as I tried it in my previous car.. changed the sunroof as it was broken when I got it.
I had only one problem that was the fuel pump relay under the dash and I guess it was because of the humidity it was parked at.. i discovered it myself as I am interrested to know everything by myslef.
I do regular maintenance as I am very picky about it.
General comments?
Great car, looks great, handles off road like a piece of cake, eye catching with large tires.
I use it everyday and I will till it dies which I doubt.
It lacks power specially in acceleration, but I am planing for few mods to improve it.
It is a bit not roomy for front passengers, but the cargo area is great.
Gas mileage is about 20 to 21 MPG highway which is very reasonable for the truck.
Engine is not very powerful, but at least more powerful than my previous 22R 2.4 engine I had in the 4runner.
I love the manual tran more than the auto.
