2000 Kia Sportage review from North America
"LEMON - WASTE of money and time repairing it"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I wish I had done my homework 1st before buying this car - I JUST HATE IT! Everything has gone wrong and viewing the posts on-line, same situations here. Latest being the engine light is stuck on and won't turn off. Dealer claims it is the TCM (transmission control module) at almost $1000 to fix.
Lost my 4x4 during winter
New brakes put in after 2 years
Replaced alternator
windshield wiper motor burned out
heat shield rattles continuously
I can go on and on...
General comments?
All I can say if go with a Jeep or something and don't risk buying a Kia if you are looking for 4 wheel drive. After paying off this thing $17 grand, I am now only getting a $500 trade in on the hunk of junk. Expensive lesson on my part I suppose.
I will never recommend a KIA to NO-ONE!
