2005 GMC Safari review from North America
"Another domestic, another disappointment"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Engine blew around 150,000 km.
Flex-tube and two more gas lines that I'm in the middle of replacing.
Many other things that have been replaced are the battery, starter, exhaust system.
Back heaters; heater line needs replacing (currently disconnected), and other small items.
General comments?
This van, when it is working, is a great vehicle to have in the winters and to haul things around. Handling is great, accelerates well for a cargo passenger van, and is very comfortable to drive. Although I wish there was a little bit more leg room.
But the countless problems that come up, makes it expensive to maintain. Especially in colder climates (Winnipeg, Manitoba).
I must mention, some of these problems could have been avoided if repairs were taken care right way, rather then try to hold off even a couple of weeks. Take it from me, bus for a couple of days, until you can get your car fixed. Trust me, it'll be worth it.
