2005 Renault Megane review from UK and Ireland
"Very good car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Faulty audio speaker
Rattle on dash.
General comments?
I have a Renault Megane 1.5Dci 100 automatic as a company car, I don’t think that these are that common, and who would have thought that a 1500cc Diesel automatic would be any good ? I must admit I am very happy with the car and it’s perfect for driving in London as well as frequent trips to Reading (about 100 miles from where I live in Kent surprisingly nippy and refined.
At present I get around 50mpg average in town and up to 60mpg on a motorway trip. At the first service I had to get the rear door speaker changed as it was resonating, and I also had a rattle on the dash which has now been fixed but as another reviewer stated, depending on the temperature it can still squeak at times.
The car is very comfortable and I still like the shape as it’s very different from other cars. I had a 2001Ford Focus previously which as you know people rave about, however for day to day running the Renault runs rings around the Ford and I have found the dealer much happier to help.
