1995 Chevrolet Camaro review from North America

"Camaro the most bang for the buck"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Pinion bearings need to be replaced in the rear end at 83K.

Needed a wheel hub and bearing on front passenger side at 70K.

Rear defogger switch needed to replaced since it would only stay on for a couple of minutes at 89K.

On the driver seat side bolster has wear and has a hole the size of a quarter.

General comments?

Pros:

The Camaro coupe style still looks current and is a head turner. The Bose sound system is excellent for factory option audio. I have owned for two years and is reliable for a 10 year old car. You can pick one up used with low miles for a good price. The V6 Camaro has affordable insurance. Parts are plentiful and affordable.

Cons:

I do not care for all the blind spots the car has. The 160 HP 3.4 V6 power is adequate, but slow compared to today’s V6s. Does not handle well in snow and rain due to the fact that it is rear wheel drive.

Overall Review:

Bought in December 2003 with 70K on it for $3400 at a Lincoln dealer trying to unload the car since Camaro do not sell well in Michigan during the winter. The Camaro has 89K on it now. I plan on keeping the car for a long time. If you live in area where it has deep snow in the winter I would recommend buying a FWD winter beater to drive instead of the Camaro since it is slow and hard to drive in the snow.
