2001 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 review from North America

Transmission went out at 15k, but this was not the cars fault (miss-shifted racing another car). Replaced under warranty with a smile!!

Factory stereo could use improvement, or just cut it off and listen to the exhaust as you should do!!

Nothing else significant.

I bought this car new, and over the course of 4 years put about $5k in modifications on the car. Stock 1/4 miles was 13.4 @ 106, by the end I had it to 12.6 @ 112 mph, with simple bolt-ons. I can't stress enough the bang-for-the-buck of this platform and motor. Having working in the performance automotive field for 3 years, I can attest the capabilities of this car are beyond most peoples wildest imagination (a simple supercharger kit will make over 500 rear wheel horsepower properly tuned). If your into cushy, comfy, practical rides, this car IS NOT FOR YOU. However, for a raw, visceral, wicked performance experience at a small cost, this is THE ONE. On August 3, 2005, I totalled this car, wiping out in a corner at over 100 mph, rolling the car 4 times. I walked away with nary a scratch....obviously some luck was involved, but this is a much safer car than you think.
