2005 Ford Mondeo LX review from UK and Ireland

"An excellent great value for money car, which I would recommend to anyone!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

NOTHING!!!

General comments?

I just bought this car about 4 weeks.

It's a cracking car and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a good sized family car for cheap money.

I used to drive a Corsa (which was more economical, but smaller!), and the Mondeo is nothing in comparison. The boot is GIGANTIC despite only being a hatchback.

Fuel Economy is quite reasonable, and you can easily get around 380 miles on a tank for about £40.

Space was an important factor for me. I am 6' 7" tall and so I needed a car that was built with lots of legroom, and indeed the Mondeo has this. Very comfortable, despite my height.

The seats are only cloth, but are amazingly comfortable as well. I just did a run from Aberdeen to Stirling last weekend and back, and for the first time, I arrived not at all cramped. The seats are great.

My car is only an LX, and it has amazing specification for the base spec model. Luxuries include 6 airbags, Heated windscreen, Air Conditioning, Cruise Control and on-board trip computer.

The performance is also remarkably lively for a 1.8L in such a large car. My Dad used to own a Mk2 Mondeo 2.0Si and the performance (0-60) is only about a second slower. But I bought the car for carrying my scuba diving gear, and for a larger, more roomy car than my Corsa, which it copes admirably with! It has met and exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend the Mondeo to anyone looking at a family car.

To sum up in a word: Excellent.
