1994 Chrysler New Yorker review from North America

"Great summer car... never trust on Winter"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Previous owner informed me that the engine had been rebuild and had only 60,000 miles when he purchased it. (about 2 months ago before I bought it)

A minor Engine oil leaks.

Engine too loud and noisy. Engine mount replaced. After that the engine runs a little quite than it used to be.

Cup holder broke. So I had to glue it permanently.

Thermostat control shuts off from time to time. Although when it shut off by itself. The front heater/defroster blower is still running or blowing hot air. So I have to wham the side of the housing of the control, then it will turn back on.

A/C doesn't get cold. I bought a Refill kit and that fixed the problem.

Power windows are too loud when you roll the windows up and down.

Camshaft sensor wiring loose due too bad connector- Replaced and fixed.

Infinity sounds, both front door speakers were blown - replaced.

Few led lights of the brake/stop light are out.

All four shocks still needs to be replaced. It gets bumpy when you hit a pot hole at 60mph then it starts to swerve.

Steering linkage still needs aligned or fixed.

General comments?

Very comfortable when I first test drive it.

Leather seats still in pretty good shape.

Oil change after the first 2 months I owned it.

Replaced Air filter.

Upgrade headlight bulbs.

Never had any engine trouble after I replace the connector on camshaft sensor.

Car is very sharp and clean inside and out.

Undercarriage is very clean and very minor surface rust.

Body paint is still in very good condition. No paint wear or flaking or whatsoever. It is still shiny especially after you get it washed.

This is my first FWD car I ever owned. I have notice that the car doesn't really handle the snow very well. You might think it would because its Front wheel drive. I ask 3 of my friends at work to try and drive it in snow if this is how front wheel drive car reacts to snow and slush. My guess was right the car handling capability in snow is poor. My previous car was Mercury Grand Marquis - rear wheel drive. I can drove that car at 45-55mph with snow and slush on the road it drives straight. But not this New Yorker 30mph you can feel it swerve and fishtails.

Decent gas mileage. From home to work 40 miles drive back and forth I get between 20-22 mpg. On highway and long drive it had 25mpg. Probably with a little more tune up it will improve it's gas mileage.
