1991 Jeep Wrangler 2.5 5speed review from Finland
"Daily fun with good value"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Valve cover leaks oil
Rear transfer case leaks oil
u joints worn
track bar bushing worn.
Most of the issues were due normal wear, and nothing hazardous. The rear track bar can be removed because it is originally placed only to make the car better drivable on highways.
General comments?
Simple easy-to-maintain for DoItYourself men.
Check jeep forums etc. for more info on this vehicle, its not just a car, it's a lifestyle if one wants it.
Fun to drive, but must be driven carefully on 2wd wintertime, rear end is really easily out of control. Use 4wd to feel safe and to control car better on icy roads.
4wheel locking system prone to failure because of vacuum system leaks. Can be converted to manually controlled system with low cost.
Check fluid levels frequently and You will have no problem.
