1996 Chevrolet Silverado K1500 review from North America
"Overall it's been a good vehicle and I intend to buy another Chevy in the future"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rear differential went out at 135000, that was $500, and the replacement differential went out at 150000 (but was still under warranty).
The motor blew at 175000. I put in a 4 bolt main bored .030 over, that was $1650.
I've done the brakes all around.
It had a new fuel pump when I bought it.
I have had absolutely no transmission problems. I don't know the history on it, but it shifts beautifully.
General comments?
It handles & rides really nice for the miles that are on it.
It has a lot of power, even the old motor before it blew up could throw you back in your seat. I did purchase a power programmer for it and that helped a lot. I have a lead foot so I like the power. When the motor blew, the tach was at about 5800 RPMs.
