2002 Audi A3 Sports review from Hong Kong
"Troublesome"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Ignition computer failure requiring towing away at ~30000KM.
Busted Turbo pipes at 45000.
Faulty fan (1 of 2) with overheated engine at 43000 requiring both to be changed at a hefty price of HK 5000.
Easily scratched and flaking surface on the console of the radio and headlight switch.
Melted fuse box with difficulties starting at times --> Fuse box needs replacing at HK 2000.
Can never jump start this car when battery runs flat.
The multi-disc changer never workeed properly--> Never able to read all 6 discs and always give "CRC error" message.
General comments?
This car is quick for its engine size and handling is awesome if it is starting.
Great styling and has a lot of character.
Cabin is great and comfortable with good Sound system (Audi concert)
Ride is on the firm side though.
If you don't ming paying a hefty maintanince price do get one.
