1999 Chevrolet Blazer LS review from North America
"Blazer is a lemon"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The transmission went out at 72,000 miles. We've had to replace the right front u-joints and balls.
I wish I would have read about the 2000 Blazer before I'd bought mine. My transmission also went out of my Blazer at around 72,000 miles. I emailed the Chevy company after reading all of the complaints that consumers had about the Blazer. I had to end up calling them, (1-800-222-1020). They said that the more complaints they get the better it is to get a recall. They also said to complain to the NHTSA either at their website (http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/sitemap.cfm) or by calling 1-888-327-4236. The more complaints they get about something that has went wrong... the more they will look at making a recall. If you've had a problem, please contact either or both places.
General comments?
For the most part I love my Blazer. I like the sunroof and the comfort. I am just really frustrated with the transmission going out. My last car.. which I still own has 190,000 miles on it and I've never had any problems with it.
