1979 Chevrolet Impala sedan review from North America
"My car is the best of all cars"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Headliner fell, they always do on these cars.
Carb is acting up.
Interior plastic is faded bad.
Fm went out only am now and there is nothing good on am.
General comments?
I love big cars with big engines (only gm cars) I got the big car, but a 305 is not a big engine so this summer I will upgrade to a 432.
I'm going to turn 16 and get my license soon so then I can drive the car.
I love my car and its cool and I saved it from going to the big junkyard in heaven.
To do so I've had to put in new brake lines, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, muffler, brake pads shoes and spring kit, cleaned the car, took off headliner, resurfaced rotors, put new fluids in including oil brake and rear differential, some bodywork and now its drivable again.
The seats are real comfortable (fell asleep in it once a few days ago) i have a strong bond with the car I'm never going to sell and I plan to fix it up the rest of the way when I go to wyotech.
It has even helped push a kids car to our school auto shop when the car died on him.
These cars are so reliable unlike ford or dodge my car runs and drives good and hope to never have a problem.
Overall its one of the best cars in the world.
