1996 SAAB 900 SE review from North America
"Can be finicky, but an enjoyable car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Serp belt failed, heated seat doesn't get hot, radio display pixels partially worn out, sunroof switch in-op periodically, repeated oxygen sensor failure, DI cassette failed.
General comments?
This car is a good all around car. it can hold a lot, the SE model has some great features, it is an easy car to drive, but has had some nagging issues that caused me to get rid of it. also the dealerships around here charge insane prices to work on it and the independent mechanics while they do good work, often do not have the most updated computers to read the check engine light codes.
If you are going to buy one, make sure the previous owner took seriously good car of it and get a good sense of the recent work done to it, otherwise you'll be in for a big headache. these cars are worth the effort though. my car had the 2.o 4cyl turbo with 5spd, def stay away from the v6 models which are maintenance intensive and offer no better performance.
