2000 Isuzu Rodeo review from North America
"Avoid this brand: a great looking vehicle poorly built"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Air conditioning compressor after 3 years.
Defroster fan motor after 4 years.
Rear window wiper motor after 4 years.
Impossible to fix/built-in front end shimmy at 65 MPH:nothing helps: brand of tires, alignments, balancing, suspension.
Rear door latch after 3 years.
Serpentine belts last 2 years at most.
General comments?
The above issues really make buying this brand useless: these are things you expect to go wrong on an "American"
engineered car: very expensive and none should have gone bad.
I mean really, the compressor after 3 years?
Comfortable, stylish, roomy... all mean nothing when given the poor quality of the accessories.
Also, horrendous gas mileage..15 city, never ever better than 20 on the highway with a strong tailwind!
I am a maintenance freak, and have all the preventive things done. Waste of money, as you still wind up spending a fortune of peripherals.
This I could get in an American car.
So my next one probably will be.
By the way, this was built in the states, one of the reasons I bought it.
