2005 Hyundai Tucson GLS review from Greece
"I am satisfied with this car. It does everything well"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Alternator belt started "squeaking" a little due to water splashing on it (due to wider tires??).
Lot of road noise from new (wider:255/50/17) tires.
General comments?
Pretty nice car, looks and sounds quite solid, handles very good on road. Powerful enough, although I wouldn't mind a few more horsepower (chip it to 140 HP?).
One thing I would like is a set of low gears, or at least a lower 1st gear. The car is heavy, so when starting uphill, it "chokes" a little until he turbo kicks-in at around 1800rpm.
The previous point brings to attention the only "problem":the weak clutch. During some off-roading and while trying to get un-stuck, the clutch started to smell a little bit, just like they pointed out in the car magazines.
The interior is quite versatile. Lots of room and the rear seats fold down perfectly easy. The speakers the car had standard play superbly for anyone, but extreme audio buffs. Fuel consumption is exactly what I expected (I don't know what the factory says, but I get around 9.8 lt/100 km).
The gearbox/gearshift is a little notchy and quirky.
