1973 Ford Escort GT review from South Africa
"Priceless Street-level Bomb with class"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Gearbox developed a leak and the seals had to be replaced which cost R 1500 in parts and labour.
Accelerator cable snapped and needed to be replaced, could not find a replacement that easily.
Master Brake Cylinder developed a leak, problem solved by an expert mechanic for R 150.00.
General comments?
This is a fantastic car to own, it is very cheap in terms of spares, what you have to understand is that old cars need and should be given constant attention, so that everything runs smoothly.
