2002 Pontiac Aztek base review from North America
"Should be overlooked... unless purchase cost is very low"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Front Bearings (both sides) at 60000km. (out of warranty)
New rotors, pads. (all around) 62000km.
2 major head gaskets on engine (expensive) $1000 (out of warranty)
Rear door/hatch does not open.
Do not buy, skip over... unless they give it to you.
Father - family of 4.
General comments?
This vehicle will go down as one of the least reliable ones Pontiac ever built. Which is too bad, GM did not need this as they are trying to clean up their reputation. You can find these very cheap on car lots, be careful.
They seem to be plagued with problems. I think they were built in Mexico... cheap labour...poor quality.
Look at Volvo's, Toyota's or Honda's.
