2001 Pontiac Aztek base review from North America

This is a wonderful suv.

It had a rough start, it was brought to the auction where we purchased it for one reason we can find:

it was obviously driven into a slew, and the rad needed to be exteriorly cleaned out of sand and weeds.(P.S. do not try to pull it out using a week metal rad cover, they bend)

A exhaust manifold was not sealed properly, a factory defect.

Got it back from the manifold repair (dealership) and found out a year later when the transmission fluid was on our driveway that the trans lines were not placed on correctly, we missed a line and it was driven almost an hour with very little oil, mainly on the highway, some was in city, we thought the worst (someone was driving that obviously had no sense of smell, for it reeked of oil) and the trans is as strong as ever, a very solid car.

It has better acceleration that we anticipated, it is good at merging.

Wow the stereo is amazing with the Bose 10 speaker setup. although the power seems to peak quite early making the base seem lower in the higher zones.

The center console being a cooler is quite handy.

I know I am missing things about this wonderful car, well, suv, and it is a awsome vehicle, I would recommend one to the world, but then I wouldn't have one to drive, because it would get stolen :)
