2000 Honda Accord ex review from North America

I have had 5 transmissions in the 5yrs I have owned the car. 4 under warranty and the last honda split the cost with me at 141,000. now the 5th one has a 3yr/36,000

mile warranty. It too is going out now. I have had 2 radios replaced,2 catalyst converters, driver seat belt buckle that honda recently took care of and of course an egr issue. I found that on the 4cyl engines clean the port and possibly the intake manifold will solve issue. Honda does have an update available for the v6 models to stop carbon build up in the egr port of the v6 models. Other than that I have had no issues with this vehicle. I also owned a 98accord auto that I had to replace the trans on at 55,000 miles. Honda had me pay labor only. I also own a 98Accord manual trans and I have had no issues. I have seen vehicle that have had no issues and then I see my own, but overall I love the car.

The car other than the transmission issues is a quality vehicle. It's a honda not a mercedes benz. I was a honda tech for 3yrs and now presently a Mb dealer technician and Honda's are not bad cars. I love mine and will buy more honda's. They did make a mistake with the transmissions on 98-2002 accords and odysseys, but Honda as usual stands behind their product and continue to provide customer satisfaction.
