1996 Chevrolet Blazer LS review from North America
"Garbage Can"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rear wiper doesn't work. It makes a horrible griding noise.
Front wipers only work when they feel like it and when they are on, they won't turn off. Sometimes they won't turn on at all.
Replaced the transmission at 160,000k.
Air conditioning doesn't work.
Heater core has a leak, 160,000k.
Heater switch is broken.
Alternator is on its way out.
General comments?
This could have been a nice vehicle. It's not too big and the 4x4 works beautifully in the snow. Unfortunately, it has more problems than good points. The only good thing about all this is I've gotten to know my mechanic a lot better.
Quality is cheap.
Not very fuel efficient. I can't pump the gas fast enough to keep it full.
Underpowered for the size of the vehicle.
Too many repair bills to maintain it. Just over $3000 last year in repairs alone.
The thing that upsets me most is I tried to trade it in, but I can't get anything for it because it has too many problems. But if I fix the problems, I'm out a couple thousand dollars again. Either way, I'm getting rid of it!
