2001 Renault Clio dynamique review from UK and Ireland
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have a 02 51plate clio 1.2 16v dynamique, I also have problems with cutting out at roundabouts, but thought it was just my driving (as I used to drive porsche's for a living). But then took it to the dealer to ask if the idle speed was right. I was told that that was the correct idle speed (about 500 rpm). Then the orange light came on and I was told by the AA that it was a heater plug fault (on a diesel). took to main dealer were was told it needed a new wiring harness at £250 + vat and labour. took to a very good local garage and paid £245 all in. But told by dealer that the black cover must go back on as it is to stop water etc getting in. Car lasted about 10 miles then cut out again (same fault), now main dealer say I need a new ecu at a cost of £600 +vat and labour. Have phoned Renault UK and they have said if the garage are happy to say it is a faulty part causing this, they will look into it.
