1996 Suzuki Vitara jlx review from Philippines
"Value for money"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Water pump leaked at 80000 km, replaced this f0r around $72 u.s.d.
Replaced timing belt and tensioner bearings every 80000 km.
Head of radiator crakced at 80000 km, replaced this for around $40 u.s.d.
Rubber part of matting melted due to the heat in our country and is now attached to the carpet.
Leather shrunk in the driver and passenger doors, now it is cracked.
Windows are out of alignment.
Recently replaced the automatic transmission filter and oil, my reverse took a while before it engaged.
Replacement or upgrade of wheels is very difficult to find.
General comments?
Aside from the stuff mentioned above, the car is built to last.
Generally, the above mentioned are all normal wear and tear items, considering the age of the car.
If your looking for comfort, I would not recommend this car.
If you want practicality, reliability and and low maintenance cost. this car is great.
