2003 Renault Scenic megane review from Australia and New Zealand
What things have gone wrong with the car?
In addition to a previous review I make the following comment about the battery fitted to this and many other european cars.
These batteries are known as DIN batteries.
The problem is that if for some reason they go flat, they will not be recharged after a jump start by travelling a short distance.
The battery has to be recharged with the cables disconnected for at least 24 hours before.
A.The battery can be tested to see if it is faulty.
B.Reconnected and start the car.
Both Queensland's RoyalAutomobile Club and Renault Australia who use the RACQ seem to be unaware of this fault to the extent that I had my car attended to three times before I insisted that a new charged battery be installed so I could get home at a cost of AU$147.00.
