1982 Ford Laser GL review from Australia and New Zealand
"Slow, but reliable cheap car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Some rust here and there, easilly fixable.
Some spark plugs, light bulbs, and the occational wear and tear of everyday driving.
Clutch disks and clutch teeth replacement at 160,000 KM
Apart from that, nothing really wrong happened to it.
General comments?
This car is really reliable and spare parts are plentyfull since it uses Mazda 323 parts. The engine is really robust and is chain driven, unlike belt driven motors of todays cars. The downside is its really slow since its the 1.3 model, but its really good on gas!
Its pretty basic, with no power steering, not really a comfort car, just lasts long and cheap. For a 24 year old car, it served pretty well and hope it does for some more years.
