1999 Buick Century custom review from North America
"Good Performance and Comfort for a reasonable Price"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing that I had repaired. The driver-side window motor made some funky humming sounds every now and then when I first purchased the car, but I have not heard that noise in many months. In the 15 months and 22,000 miles I've had the car, I've only put in gas and oil and a new set of tires, a K&N air filter, and a transmission fluid flush. That's it.
General comments?
I really like this car, considering the money I spent on it. It was driven by an old guy who traded it in to the dealer, with only 34,000 miles on a car about 6 years old. This was the first time I ever bought a used car from a dealer, but I only paid $5,800. Of course that was about $2,000 more than the dealer gave the poor old man trading it in (The dealer let me call the previous owner before I bought the car, and the old guy said he never had any major problems with it and he told me what they gave for trade in). The only bad thing was when I brought the car home, and my ten year old son saw the car in the driveway, he said "is Grandpa here today"? And he was not making a joke, he was asking a sincere question. That killed me, but my wife thought it was funny.
