1999 Chevrolet Tracker review from North America
"Economy with fuel, but not with repairs"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Clutch linkage rusted into pieces inside transmission.
Front and rear main seals leak.
Passenger Mirror fell off.
Soft top is disintegrating.
Engine burns a lot of oil.
Radio quit working after about a year.
General comments?
It is very easy to work on. Replacing most of the parts was a breeze with the engine. The 1.6L is very small and leaves lots of room to move around. Unfortunately with the seals going oil is everywhere under the car. The engine has been sucking down oil when it starts up for a few years now, but that's the only time it uses oil.
