1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS review from North America
"Best car I've ever driven - hands down"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Timing belt - 30,000 miles over limit and still worked... Just replaced.
Valves - needed carbon cleaning.
Water pump - needed replacement.
Head gasket - buildup, buffed out.
Brake Drum - rust buildup. buffed out.
General comments?
Well let me just say I got this as my first car and I'm 17 years old. I had to get manual as I find it a lot more fun in driving and I purchased this car as I was still learning on it and let me say it was an extremely easier flight to perfection than in other stick cars I've driven.
The interior - after 90,000 miles - has kept up like I took it in for a replacement 500 miles ago. SERIOUSLY. Gauges all still work to perfection and my fuel gauge works accurately as well.
Performance is quick and it literally turns on a dime. I believe the 0 - 60 is 6.2 seconds. I'd definately recommend this car as it's cheap and gorgeous as hell.
